I am absolutely thrilled to have a wedding featured in "The Brides Book!" http://www.thebridesbook.com/
Below is the couples touching story from their point of view... They were so much fun to work with! She even brought an extra dress so she could go in the ocean!
"A special part of the day was the gold locket that I was holding throughout the ceremony. My grandfather gave the locket to my grandmother when they were dating back in 1935. They later got married, had children and over the years the locket dissappeared. Seventy years later, my grandmothers friend was in an antique store in Mayfield, KY with her great granddaughter. The little girl was fumbling through some old pieces of jewelry and came across this gold locket. She showed her grandmother and she could not believe her eyes. She said "well that is Betty and George"! They bought the locket and returned it to my grandmother, who was amazed that she found the locket after all these years. It was such an honor to have that piece of jewelry with me on our wedding day.
My brother- in- law, Joey, was diagnosed in May of 2005 with a stage 4 brain tumor. He was only 32 years old and was informed he had about 15 months to live. It was great to see him having fun with the family and enjoying time at the beach. He was such a blessing in my life and to all those that knew him. Shortly after the wedding he lost his battle with the disease. The memories from Outer Banks will last in our hearts forever."
